We achieved EN9110 certification

Updated: May 27, 2022

By obtaining this new certification, we fulfill the main contractual requirement with our clients to access offers to carry out maintenance work and aircraft conversion tasks, and in this way, take advantage of the growing demand for opportunities in the MRO sector.

The head of the Customer Support & Services area at Alestis, explains to us how this certification process began, when the Services Unit, together with the Quality Management, began the search for certifying entities to ratify the capabilities of Alestis in the management of aeronautical maintenance activities.

What has the certification process consisted of?

Basically in adapting the processes, which we already carried out in the Services and MRO Unit, to the demanding international standards of the Standard ("EN9110 Quality management systems. Requirements for maintenance organizations in the aeronautical industry"). Our service on the flight line and delivery center of the A400M have been physically audited at the AIRBUS Defense and Space facilities at San Pablo airport (Seville), our ALESTIS San Pablo plant in the repair areas aimed at component maintenance aeronautics and all corporate processes that support this maintenance operation (customer management, purchasing, logistics, engineering, etc ...).

What does this milestone mean? What are the prospects in 2021?

This milestone represents a privileged position to qualify for MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) offers requested by the main OEMs. The prospects for 2021 in the maintenance area are focused on increasing the workload we have with the current service contracts and opting for new offers, in diverse places such as Turkey, Germany or Spanish MRO centers.

We are currently moving towards Part 145 certification, could you tell us where we are?

The Part 145 certification process with the scope of repair / maintenance of structural components and inspections by NDT (Non Destruction Tests) began in July of last year with the Spanish Ministry of Development. It is being a very demanding process derived from the strict requirements of this European legislation. Currently, we have completed the document audit process, our MOE (Organization Manual) and we are awaiting the physical audit for this imminent month of March.

In addition to the certification processes underway, during the month of February the annual follow-up audit UNE-EN-9100 was carried out in all the production centers. These audit processes highlight our orientation towards the highest quality standards and our commitment to continuous improvement.

Congratulations!
