Successful completion of the A330 MRTT Structural Damage Assessment course taught at Alestis Seville

From October 17 to 26, 2022, the A330 MRTT Structural Damage Assessment course was given at the Alestis Seville facilities to six students from Germany and the Netherlands, belonging to the European Multinational Unit of the MRTT (Multi Role Tanker Transport).

The objective has been to review and/or acquire deeper knowledge about the management of the applicable technical documents to carry out the damage assessment and identify the proposals for repairs to the structures.

The course was structured in 2 blocks: the first, consisting of 24 hours of theory, had the objective of making structural technicians aware of the use and applicability of the specific technical documents of the MRTT. In addition, the Airbus repair philosophy and procedures described in the Repair Manual and their limitations were addressed. The second 24-hour practical block consisted of carrying out different types of repairs following the instructions in the Manual.

The theoretical training has been carried out by several instructors from the Engineering and Technology department, working together in the practical part with technical personnel from the Alestis Sevilla repair area for composite parts and the CS&S area for metal parts.

Once the training was completed, the assessment received through the student satisfaction surveys was 4.3 out of 5.
