Technobahía, a team of superheroes
Henri Barbusse said that “only trying the impossible we can achieve what is possible.” We have experienced an example, during the months of May and June, in our Tecnobahía Plant.
May 18 has been marked in the history of Alestis as one of the most difficult days we have had to face; the fire at the Tecnobahía plant left a bleak panorama, which we thought would be difficult to overcome in a short period of time. However, despite the magnitude of the catastrophe, the reaction of each and every one of the people who make up the Cadiz plant was as unexpected as exemplary.
The teamwork and the serenity with which they faced the situation were crucial to achieve the Factory’s quick recovery. And, just a few hours after the fire, even when the damage had not been fully evaluated, an action plan had already been drawn up and the plant’s entire human team was organized with the common goal of recovering that one which today more than ever, they consider their home.
Because of this, on July 20, the entire Tecnobahía staff met at the plant to receive the gratitude and recognition of the entire Company, in the form of a tribute, for their commitment and performance in the implementation of the Industrial Recovery Plan after the fire that fulminated most of the facilities.
During the event, it was the workers themselves who through an emotional video shared the hard moments they had lived, their concern for the consequences, but above all, the dose of camaraderie and commitment with which they decided to face the situation.
On behalf of the General Management, Javier Díaz Gil, accompanied by a representation of the Executive Committee, and on behalf of the Company’s Board of Directors itself, acknowledged and appreciated the leadership in management, safety and temperance at the most critical moments, besides the professionalism in the execution of a Recovery Plan, with deadlines that have been more than outstanding. Special mention was given to the work of José Manuel García Saborido and Sergio Pérez, who were presented with plaques of recognition by Javier Díaz Gil and Jesús Espinosa. In addition, our thanks to the National Police, Local Police and the Fire Department of Puerto de Santa Maria for their actions and support during the day of the fire and subsequent weeks; to the companies Belfor, Eulen, Talleres Garrucho and Ferrovial for all the aid provided; Procurement and Engineering Airbus and, of course, the colleagues of the Bahía de Cádiz Centre, with Prudencio Escamilla at the helm.
Today Tecnobahía continues to count with the most advanced technology in the manufacture of carbon fiber components, but with no doubt, the level of commitment and involvement of its human team is what defines it, moves it and makes it great. In the words of José Manuel Saborido: “an unstoppable template of superheroes”.
To that superhero team, once again, THANK YOU.
