WAT, a project full of illusion
In Alestis, aware of the need and importance of generating diversity based on equity, during the Annual Communication Meeting 2018 held in February, our women’s network, WAT was launched in Alestis and it was last June 28 when the promoter team led by Teresa Escolano, Marina Paunet and María José Robles officially presented the objectives and projects to be developed by the Association.
The Organization is formed by a team of volunteers from the different areas of the Company, who, supported by the Management, will develop projects that help eliminate the psychological and technical barriers to promote diversity. Among the objectives set are: Helping in Alestis in its equality plan, the realization of projects that improve the development of women in Alestis, making diversity part of the culture of the Company and keeping all of Alestis’ employees informed of the projects and actions that are carried out, by the Association.
During the presentation, the situation of women in Alestis was analyzed, who represents a 20% of Alestis staff or the proportion of women in management positions in Alestis, 22.15% compared to Spain (27%) and the rest of the sector (34.30%).
Working on the improvement of these indicators is the goal of WAT and several projects will be launched in the coming months: equal opportunities in selection processes, talent identification and mentoring, talks for a future without gender stereotypes and the active participation of WAT in other organizations.
As an exceptional guest, we have the presence of Cristina Aguilar Grieder, Director of the Aerostructures Program of Military Aircraft ADS, who, through an inspiring talk, shared her experience in the network of women in Airbus, They fly high.
Finally, Javier Díaz Gil, CEO of Alestis, confirmed the importance of having started this project, sharing the complexity of this common project of the Company to generate commitment, satisfaction and ultimately, achieving better results.
