First edition of the STARS Recognition Programme
In November, we held the STARS Programme in all the Alestis work centres, an event recognising effort and teamwork in which we had the opportunity to discover the wide variety of solutions provided by staff at different levels of the Company.
This event is an accurate reflection of the concerns and potential of our teams, the commitment to ongoing improvement, the cooperation of everybody towards a common objective and, as a consequence of all of this, the improvement in results and efficiency.
In the words of Jesús Espinosa, Operations Director, “it is a recognition of the contribution of the workforce to the structural change currently being conducted in Alestis and which is based on the AMES strategy to achieve efficiency through the excellence of people”.
In the words of Javier Picazo, Director of Excellence System & Global Transformation: “the STARS programme is not a one-off thing, but instead falls within the AMES strategy and specifically in its 4th pillar, PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT, where, among other things, the aim is to integrate in the Management System a Standard of Recognition of the achievements obtained with this new way of working that results in greater motivation and the commitment of all the employees.
In short, the aim is to take an extra step and publicly recognise the involvement in standards and the merit of the teams for their contribution to the Company’s success.
We would like to highlight the quantity of the projects submitted and how rewarding it is to have such a variety proposals, and in different disciplines. All ideas are welcome in STARS, which is the ideal forum to let other colleagues know about proposals which may be implemented in other programmes and which may be extendable to other plants.
Finally, we should mention that this first edition of STARS has itself been a process of ongoing improvement from the first event held in Tecnobahía until the last event in Puerto Real. The cooperation and involvement of the AMES managers and the Directors of each plant have made it possible to incorporate into each session the lessons learned in the previous event, leading to the refinement of the voting processes, the performance of perfectly organised presentations and, what is most important of all, everything has been conducted in a very participative and natural atmosphere, which clearly shows the consolidation and integration of the teams.
Congratulations to all the participants, because the ideas and solutions provided are those which contribute towards our improvement as a Company.
